I’ve been slightly taken aback by the amount of “12 Days of Christmas” and “Advent Calendar” themed emails that I’ve been receiving this month, both from charities and commercial brands.  Some of these emails have very good content, but if yours is the fifth email to arrive in an inbox with the subject line “On the Fifth Day of Christmas”, you might as well not bother!

Consumer attention is always limited and never more so than at this time of year.  The very helpful blog The Storytelling Non Profit has a nice piece on how to stand out at the end of the year with a strong email that properly acknowledges your supporters and puts them first.
